This is
Karen.
I want to tell you how wonderful she is, but I am having increasing
difficulty with HTML and web pages in general. So, here, in
rather drab fashion, is what I've managed to put together so far.
Friday, Feb 4, was National Wear Red Day
So, at Karen's suggestion, we both wore red to remind
everyone that
heart disease is the number one cause of death for women.
Karen is one of the most knowledgeable, conscientious, consistent
advocates of heart health you could ever meet. One of her
great qualities is that she leads by example, not by rhetoric.
Karen, you may know has been under the weather for awhile. So
when we got the opportunity to get out of the house together, we
stopped by the Botanical Gardens.
That's not a duck with a mysterious reflection. This is the
pond where Karen released her fish in anticipation of our move out of
Homewood. If animals could talk, that is to say, if
we could understand animals when they talk, many would tell us of the
friend and caregiver they have found in Karen. Of course,
they probably would not use her Christian name. They would
probably give her a name more endearing to themselves. Probably
something like GLUBBAMOMMALOOKAFOODA, at least for the fishes, that is.
Here are pictures of her latest birthday
celebration.
Lunch at the Fish Market and cake at the old house in Homewood.
Here
is Karen at the
Vandergraaff mansion
in Tuscaloosa where we went for the wedding
of Poppy
Moon and Jimmy
